Malcolm 'Don' Knotts

KNOTTS, Malcolm D. (Don), age 73,of Clio died Sunday, September 17, 2006 at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich.  Don was born in Sullivan, Indiana on May 21, 1933 the son of Clarence and Emma M. (Vandergriff) Knotts.  He has been a Swartz Creek resident most of his life.  He and Barbara Mays were married `on June 27, 1953 in Swartz Creek.  Don worked as a Operations Manager for Citizens Bank, Ballenger Trust dept for 31 years and then at I.M.A. Brookwood retiring in 2001.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.  Don enjoyed the out of doors, and was devoted to his family.  Surviving is his wife Barbara; his children;  Donna (Greg) Smith of Flushing, Sandra Knotts and Rene' Knotts, both of Clio and Don (Gloria) Knotts of New Lothrop.  Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren an a sister Phyllis Tiesworth of Florida.  A service of remembrance to celebrate his life will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 21, 2006 at the Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Rd. Chapel Swartz Creek.  Pastor Dale Woods will officiate.  The family will receive visitation at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M. Thursday until service time. Memorial gifts in Don's name are being accepted for Genesys Hospice Care Center.
