Mabel Bates

Mabel E. Bates, age 86, of Flushing, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Mabel will be laid to rest at Talllman Cemetery in Fountain, Michigan. Online condolences can be shared at: www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.

Mabel was born on September 15, 1936 in Clio, Michigan to the late Herbert & Mabel Roe. She was employed with the Clio School District where she taught elementary school students. Mabel spent 5 years in Australia with her sister Marjorie and taught school there. She enjoyed sewing and reading her Bible. She loved going to casinos and time with her 2 cats. She also loved the Spartans and was looking forward to the game on January 1st.

She is survived by her many nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law, Ilse Roe and her best friend Margie Will of Canada. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Austin; her siblings, George, Kenneth, Butch Maurice, Raymond, Marjorie, Frances, Harty, Pearl and Vernard.
