KRANZ, M. Marie -- Age 97, of Swartz Creek, died May 21, 2013 at Fostrian Manor, Flushing. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, May 24 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Deacon Anthony Verdun Sr. officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Gentiva Hospice. Marie was born December 24, 1915 in McGehee, Arkansas, the daughter of Samuel and Annie (Slater) Blazier. She married Elmer Nelson Kranz on January 22, 1938 in Flint. They were married for 63 years at his death on June 30, 1998. She worked at Fisher Body #1 for 14 years from 1935-1949. She was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church for the past 50 years. Marie was an avid deer hunter. She enjoyed golf. She was an excellent cook that enjoyed having cook-outs at her home for large groups. Surviving are special nephews and nieces, John Dale Kirk and wife Nancy Kirk of Flushing, Nancy and husband Charlie Kirk of Swartz Creek; grandsons Dale and David Hinkle; special friends Tom and Fran Pouch, Dalton and Donna Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Larry E. Kranz; and daughter Judith K. Hinkle; one sister; and seven brothers. .
