HUMPHREYS, Lynda Kay - Age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2024 at her home. A funeral service will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor JD Landis will preside. Visitation will take place from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday and again from 1:00 PM until the time of service Tuesday. Private interment will take place at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the McLaren Hospice.
Lynda was born on August 30, 1941 in Port Huron, the daughter of the late Fred and Emma (Larkin) Galat. She graduated from Port Huron High School. Lynda worked for GM-SPO in Swartz Creek for many years before her retirement in 1992. She was united in marriage to Clyde E. Humphreys on December 22, 1962 in Port Huron. Sadly, he preceded her in death on January 22, 1994. She was a member of the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church and enjoyed making pasties with the church. Lynda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She could always be found enjoying her time with her family.
Lynda is survived by her loving children, Claudia Humphreys, Cher Humphreys and her husband, Ron Vorhies and Chad Humphreys; grandchildren, Logan Humphreys, Austin and his wife, Samantha Hamilton, and Morgan Humphreys; great-grandchildren, Dawson Brown, Payton Brown, and Rose Marie Hamilton; and sister, Janice, and her husband James King.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lynda was preceded in death by her brother, Warren and sister, Karen Desmond.
