Lyla Buys

BUYS, Lyla Marie - age 71, of Fenton, died Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at her home with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Services will be held 5 PM Friday, August 1, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be held 3 PM until the time of service Friday at the funeral home. Mrs. Buys was born April 19, 1943 in Flint, the daughter of George P. and Lyla (Humphrey) Carlson, Sr. She married Warren Buys on December 26, 1961 and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2005. Mrs. Buys was a member of VFW Auxiliary and DAV Auxiliary in Sterling, MI. She enjoyed painting and arts and crafts. Surviving are: six children, Paul Shear of FL, Bud (Patricia) Shear of FL, Arline Wood of Fenton, Sheryl Wynimko of Flint, Warren (Roseann) Buys, Jr. of Pinconning, Lyla (Dale) Mann of Fenton; 2 step-children, Steven (Deborah) Buys of Barryton, Gloria (Adel) Walker of Detroit; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren with one on the way; 5 siblings, Inez (Howard) Wilson of OK, George Carlson, Jr. of Flint, Marlene Robinson of Davison, Sharon (Kent) Uptigrove of Davison, Robert (Jean) Carlson of OH; many nieces and nephews.
