BIGNALL, Lyla Ellen - Age 86, of Linden, died Friday, February 1, 2008 at Argentine Care Center. Mrs. Bignall was born in Birmingham, Michigan on August 9, 1921 the daughter of Wright H. and Nelle E. (Fuller) Ellwood. She graduated from Linden High School in 1939. On May 14, 1941 she married Robert W. Bignall. Mrs. Bignall was a homemaker, a member of the Linden United Methodist Church where she served as United Methodist Women president and sunday school teacher. She did volunteer work for the Girl Scouts of America and 4-H for 34 years. She was a member of the Fenton AARP, A past co-ordinator of FISH in Linden and a member of the Holiday Ramblers Trailer Club # 195. Lyla's specialty was "grandmothering". Surviving are her husband Robert "Bob" Bignall, a son, Robert E. and wife Nancy Bignall, 2 daughters; Marsha A. McDaniel and Sherry E. Bignall. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Jeffrey R. Fenton (Fawn), Jennifer R. Fisch-Ferguson (Don), Andrew J. Bignall, Won-Hyung McCann (Bill), Stephanie L. Fenton and Angela R. Fenton, 2 great-grandsons, Ryan McCann, Alexnder Fisch-Ferguson; 2 great-granddaughters, Sky Bignall and Malika Beveridge-Bignall and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Leah Carnefix, Charlotte Ingleright and a brother, Donald K. Ellwood. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Linden United Methodist Church Pastor Margo Kivisto will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the Sharp Funeral Homes Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden Monday from 1 to 3 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, Mrs. Bignall will lie in state at the church from 10 A.M. to service time.
