HROMEK, Lydia Agnes -- Age 93, of Lennon, died April 15, 2010 at Durand Senior Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, April 19 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek, Rev. Fr. Steven Mattson celebrant. Interment in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek, with a Scripture service at 6:30 PM Sunday; and visitation 10 AM until the time of the mass at church on Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Mary's Church. Mrs. Hromek was born May 18, 1916 in Mitchell, IA, the daughter of John and Agnes (Jelinek) Staroba. She married Jacob Frank Hromek September 3, 1937 in Angola, IN; he preceded her in death October 25, 2005. Mrs. Hromek had resided in Lennon since 1945. She retired from G.M. in 1973. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Surviving are: four children, Robert and wife Mary of Durand, Shirley Henige of San Diego, CA, Nancy and husband Albert Chargo of Lennon, Larry of Lennon; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Betty Staroba, and Katherine Perry; several nieces and nephews.
