BONNER, Luther Eugene "Gene" - age 80, of Flint, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012. Services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor David Hensler officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-9 PM Friday from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Avalon Hospice or the Frankenmuth Lutheran Home. Mr. Bonner was born August 28, 1932 in Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, the son of Thomas Earl and Stella Marshall (Woodcock) Bonner. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and married Judith E. Yoba Roberts on October 5, 1974 in Swartz Creek. Mr. Bonner retired from General Motors in 1999 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, jigsaw puzzles and reading Louis Lamore books. Surviving are: wife, Judy of Flint; eight children, Dennis Bonner of Davison, Douglas Bonner, AR, Grace Ann (Les) Beaver of AR, Dawn Annette Guthridge of AR, Doyne (Cricket) Bonner of Flint, Dorothy Barton of AR, Martin (Victoria) Roberts of Shelby Twp; Sandra Roberts of Grand Blanc; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Emogene (Roy) Meade and Osele "Pug" Walters, all of Flint.
