Luis Villarreal

VILLARREL, Luis Corpus - Age 55, of Linden, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2020. Memorial service will take place 1 PM, Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Faith Church of Linden, 4518 Silver Lake Rd, Linden, MI 48451. Pastor Daniel Patz will officiate. Memorial gathering will take place at the church from 11 AM until the time of service on Monday. Luis was born on May 21, 1965 in Flint, the son of Juan and Chonita (Corpus) Villarreal. He graduated from Holly High School. Luis and Julie Betts were united in marriage on February 7, 1998. He retired after 35 years of service from Iron Workers Local 25. Luis loved spending time with his wife and two daughters, who he loved dearly. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, boating and going to classic car shows. Luis was born a second time having put his faith alone in Jesus Christ. In 2010, Luis was baptised along with his daughter (Ashley) and his father-in-law (Charles Betts) at Faith Baptist Church by Pastor Jack McMaster. This baptism was his public confession that He was trusting Christ's finished work on the cross to take away His sins and to be his Lord. Luis is in heaven today because of the mercy and grace that is found in Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Villarreal; two daughters, Alexandra and Ashley Villarreal; 7 siblings, Juan, Rachel, Bertha, Ricardo, Carlos, Michael and Lydia; sister-in-law, Jodi; brother-in-law, Todd; father and mother-in-law, Charles and Sharon Betts.  Luis is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Chonita Villarreal; 2 sisters, Henrietta and Elizabeth; and brother-in-law, Ken.
