RODGERS, Lucille M. - Age 81, of Fenton, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Fenton. Fr. Dwight Ezop and Fr. David Harvey concelebrants. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and at church Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7:00 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John G.I.F.T. Campaign, 600 N. Adelaide St, Fenton, MI 48430. Lucille was born June 24, 1932 in Fenton the daughter of Ford and Maude (Richley) Smith. She was a 1950 graduate of Holly High School. She married Eugene "Gene" Rodgers August 8, 1953 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Holly. She had been employed by the Fenton Lumber Company as a bookkeeper. Lucille was a very active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Surviving are: her husband of 60 years, Eugene "Gene"; 3 daughters, Linda and husband Nick Milicia of Colorado Springs, CO, Diane and husband Jim Keighley of Wilmette, IL, and Suzanne Leach of Jackson; 7 grandchildren, Donny and wife Katie Keighley of Golden, CO, Mike Keighley of Ft. Carson, CO, Lucia and husband Gary Loyd of Wichita, KS, Gina and husband Eric Lundby of Broomfield, CO, Brett Leach of Thailand, Alexandria Leach of Jackson, and Devin Leach of Jackson; 3 great grandchildren, Skyler, Brian, and Noah. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teresa Marie Rodgers; son, Mark Rodgers; and brother, Donnie Smith.
