Lucille was born February 2, 1934 in Albion, the third daughter of Otto and Elsie (Rommel) Heisler. She was a 1952 graduate of Albion High School and she worked at City Bank in Albion until she married the love of her life, Douglas Hagemann. God blessed them with 6 children and 42 years of marriage before Doug's death in 1998. Lucille was a stay-at-home mom for their 6 children and she loved and nurtured each one of them. Doug and Lucille began their family in Battle Creek and then moved to St. Clair Shores before finally settling in Oakland Township. Lucille moved to Rochester Hills after Doug's death and resided there until she moved into assisted living at Tanglewood in Fenton. She loved to cook, garden, and take trips with OPC in Rochester. She had a love of reading and volunteered at the Friends of Rochester Hills Library and worked to oversee many elections in Oakland Township. She was a lifelong Lutheran whose faith guided and comforted her though all the many stages of her life.
Lucille is survived by her 6 children, Douglas Hagemann, Jr. of Elko, NV, Lori (Mark) Strachan of Plymouth, Kevin (Joseli) Hagemann of Winchester, VA, Brenda (Thomas) Dunseth of Highland, David (Sheri) Hagemann of Oxford and Marla (Greg) Yeomans of Byron Center; and 13 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. In addition, Lucille is survived by her sister, Ruth Bussing and many wonderful nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Margaret Cunningham; and husband, Douglas. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the loving caregivers and families at Tanglewood Assisted Living in Fenton who supported her in the final years.
