Loyd Hart

HART, Loyd Ivon - Age 96, of Byron, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial in Byron Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 11 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contribution to the American Kidney Association. Loyd Ivon Hart was born in Cardwell, Missouri on January 12, 1923, the oldest of Jess and Opal (Day) Hart's 14 children. As a young man, Loyd participated in the Civilian Conservation Corp. stationed in Idaho. He is a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army artillery in Europe. Loyd moved his family to Michigan in the 1950's, living in both Fenton and Byron for many years. During his working career, Loyd was a member of the Teamster's and served as a Union Steward. He held various positions in the concrete business working for both Catsman and Palmer concrete, retiring in 1988. Loyd was happily married to Irene (Tolley) from 1946 until her death in 1990. Later he was fortunate to meet the 2nd love of his life, Vivian Crane, and they were caring companions for 18 years until her death in 2009. Loyd was a proud father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Surviving are: son, Steve (Barbara) Hart of Palm Coast, FL; daughter, Sharon (Doug) Padget of Byron; children, Robert Hart of Palm Coast, FL, Andrea (Ron) Williams of Grand Blanc, and Carrie (Ryan) Brown of Flushing; step grandson, Zachary (Stacey) Padget of Dearborn; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Leslie, Christine, Lindell, Esther, Jessie, Easter, and Vernie; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Irene; companion, Vivian; sibling, Irene, Jess, and Jerrel. Tributes may be posted at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
