PHILLIPS, Louise M. -- Age 80 of Burton died June 28, 2015. A memorial mass will be held 1PM on Friday, July 3, 2015 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Fr. Robert Bacik celebrant. Visitation will take place from 2-8PM with a 7PM scripture service on Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Shrine of St. Joseph for the Suffering and Dying, in Grass Lake, MI on Tuesday July 7 at 11:30AM. Louise will be buried in August at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Louise was born August 4, 1934 the daughter of Henry G. and Geraldine E. (Ames) Kalchik in Omena. She graduated from Northport High School where she was active in theater, singing, and art. Louise is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. On April 17, 1954 she married James N. Phillips in Bainbridge, MD. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and enjoyed her free time gardening, crocheting, and being active in the VFW and the Order of the Eastern Star. Survived by children; Terri L. Sellon of Melboune, FL, James N. (Sue) Phillips Jr. D.B.A. of Grass Lake, Phil E. (Lorie) Phillips of Genesee Twp., Sandi (John) Gillard of Burton, Mark S. Phillips Ph.D. of Burton, and Gerri A. (Scott) Redmond of Lapeer, brothers; Robert (Rosemary) Kalchik of Omena, Noman (Barbara) Kalchik of Traverse City, Henry (Linda) Kalchik of Omena, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Preeded in death by her loving husband, James, parents, siblings; Lyle, Albert Richard, Carroll and Joanne. Tributes may be shared at www.shapfuneralhomes.com
