Louis Eugene BECKWITH, Jr

BECKWITH, Louis Eugene, Jr. - age 87, of Flint, died Friday, November 11, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Care Center. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, November 14, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek with Pastor Jim Combs, Sr. officiating, Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-8 P Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Mr. Beckwith was born November 11, 1924 in Swartz Creek, the son of Louis E. and Gladys (Coad) Beckwith. He married Shirley Vincent on December 11, 1943. Mr. Beckwith retired from Swartz Creek Schools in 1986 as the Head Custodian with 17 years of service. He was also employed at Pureseal Dairy for 19 years and enjoyed farming and construction for many years. Surviving are: wife, Shirley of Flint; two sons, Robert (Nann) Beckwith of Swartz Creek, David (Annette) Beckwith of Swartz Creek; daughter, Donna (Bryan) Fox of Goodrich; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: two daughters, Cheryl and Judy Beckwith; three sisters and one brother. The family extends a thank you to Genesys Hospice and a special thanks to Jimantra.
