SCHWARTZ, Lorraine G. -- Age 95, of Flint Township, died April 1, 2011 at Brian's House Hospice, Davison. Funeral mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St, Flint, Rev. Fr. Thomas Firestone celebrant. Interment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday with a Vigil at 7 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek,; and 10AM until time of mass at church Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John Vianney Memorial Fund, American Heart Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital. Lorraine was born October 4, 1915 in Ottawa, Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Yvonne (Berthiaume) Schwartz. She had lived in the Flint area since 1927, with the exception of 1968-1974 when she resided in Pompano Beach, Florida. She graduated from Flint Central in 1934. Lorraine was a former member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, and a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church since 1974. She was a former member and officer of American Business Women's Association, MICHABWA and FLINTOWNE chapters. She retired from Graybar Electric Co. Inc in 1966 after 26 years of service and then worked in the law office of Trembley and Trembley. She enjoyed gardening, was extremely artistic, very creative, and a beautiful china painter. She is survived by one sister, Mary Ann McMillan; one special niece, Diane Rockwell; eight nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; several cousins in Minnesota and Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her mother and father in 1975 and 1976 respectively; her sisters and brothers-in-law Delores Trembley (2005) and M. Bushnell Trembley (1993), Carmen McGovern (2007) and John E. McGovern Sr. (1994), John McMillan (2004); and nephew John E. McGovern Jr. (2005).
