Lorraine Kathryn Costabile

COSTABILE, Lorraine Kathryn - age 88, of Grand Blanc, died Friday, December 10, 2010 at her residence. Services will be held 1 PM Monday, December 13, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Pastor Darrell Foltz officiating. Interment will be held 1 PM Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Chapel Hill Gardens in Chicago, IL. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday and 11 AM until the time of service Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mrs. Costabile was born June 24, 1922 in Gallup, NM, the youngest child of Charles and Mary (Brown) Grant. She was only two pounds when she was born and was kept in a box on an open stove door. She married William F. Costabile on October 20, 1943 and he preceded her in death on March 1, 1980. She retired from General Foods as a Quality Control Supervisor and moved back to Taylorville, IL where she grew up. She has resided in Grand Blanc since 2000 when she came to live with Pam and Bill. Mrs. Costabile was a Blue Ribbon Winning "Left Handed Crotchetier". She volunteered at the Senior Citizen Center in Oak Lawn, IL and St. Vincent Hospital in Taylorville, IL. She won the best smile award from Zonta House in Flint, MI. Mrs. Costabile was a Boy Scout Den Mother and very involved at First Baptist Church of Burbank, IL where she and her husband were part of the "God Squad" and Grace Baptist Church in Taylorville, IL. She currently was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc. Surviving are: son, William Costabile and wife, Pamela of Grand Blanc; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jeanette Neunlist and Margie Datillo and brothers, Charles and Stewart Grant.
