Lorraine Cassise

CASSISE, Lorraine - Age 90, of Fenton, formerly of Berkley, passed away September 18, 2022. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Thursday, September 22, 2022 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit. Visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. John School for scholarships. Lorraine was born January 9, 1932, in Detroit, the daughter of Frank and Rose Gesla. She was married to Paul Cassise, who preceded her in death. Lorraine and Paul were both employed by Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Beverly Hills for over 30 years. She (Laura as known by OLQM facility) took great pride in working for the Lord and the Church! Her strong Faith was a part of her everyday life. She Prayed daily for her family, friends and anyone who needed prayers, including strangers. Her love for her family was endless one of her favorite sayings to her grandchildren was "I love you more than all the stars in the sky and all the fish in the sea!" She was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking her polish favorites for family. She and Paul spent many summers at their cabin in Gladwin, MI where they mostly famously spoiled their grandchildren. With days spent swimming, fishing and trips to the candy store and McDonald’s happy meals, and evenings spent night crawler picking at Gladwin golf course with Aunt Boo. Kocham Cie (I love you in Polish) Gmama to the moon and back! She is survived by her children, Michael (Linda) Cassise, Cathy Vento and Lisa (James) Rolls; grandchildren, Brian, Brandon (Johanna) Cassise, Taylor Rose (David) McJunkin, Jessica Rolls, Karly Rolls and Heather (Harry) McCollum; great grandchildren, Rowan McJunkin and William Cassise. A special thank you to the Medical Hospice team led by Jenn and the staff at Vicinia Gardens for their love and caring ways to Mom and our family. God Bless you all.
