Lorenna Jean Flick

Lorenna Jean Flick, age 78, of Flushing, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at her home. A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 4, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Joshua McLaren will preside. Visitation will take place from 11:30 AM until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the Swartz Creek Church of the Nazarene, 7154 Morrish Rd, Swartz Creek, MI 48473. 

Jean was born on January 12, 1946 in Detroit, the daughter of Harry Beach and Barbara Saxton. She graduated from Flint Northern High School, class of 1963. A year later, on May 8, 1964 she was united in marriage to Larry Flick. In 1969, Jean opened a licensed day care in her home called Jeannie Day Care. She operated the day care for the next 49 years. Jean lovingly gave all of herself to making each child feel as if they were a part of her family. She spent equal time teaching, nurturing and she enjoyed each child she cared for. 

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Flick; sons, Scott (Katee) and Todd Flick; grandchildren, Aidan, Cal, Ella and Audree; nieces and nephews, Debbie Seames, Curt Waterman, Dill Waterman, Phil (Rhonda Flick) Milliken, Jacek (Stephanie Flick) Glowacki; and brother-in-law, Ted Flick. 

Jean was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Saxton; father, Harry Beach; sister, Shirley Waterman; and brother-in-law, Bill Waterman. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
