Gridley, Lorain V., age 101, of Lapeer, passed away Sunday July 29, 2012 at the Pines of Lapeer. Services will be held 6:00PM Friday, August 3, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes and Cremation Center , 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc Twp. Pastor Jack Dowden officiating. Visitation will be held 3:00PM Friday until time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Home and Hospice Advantage. Mr. Gridley was born June 13, 1911 in Boyne City Michigan, the son of the late Virgil E. and Blanche (Park) Gridley. He married Helen Bowyer in Flint, March 25, 1939. Lorain enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling the world with his family. After graduation he furthered his education and went thru the G.M. Apprenticeship Program. Lorain worked for Buick Motors for 45.4 years as a Impression Dye Sinker, retiring in 1974. He was a former member of the Oak Methodist Church, was a member of the National Rifle Association, and was a former President of the International Dye Sinkers Association. Surviving are his wife Helen of 73 years; daughter, Carol and Husband Clyde Hutton of Lapeer; sons, Paul and wife Jennie Gridley of Clio, David and wife Gridley of Columbiaville; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death also by his grandson Kenneth Gridley; brother Albert Gridley; sisters, Laura Ward and Violet Gridley.
