Varner, Lonny Lee Age 80, of Grand Blanc, died November 29, 2021. A private interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 11 at Eastside Community of Christ 2120 Wilmar St Burton. Lonny was born February 20, 1941 in Midland, the son of Edwin and Alta May (Hall) Varner. He married Mary Lowell in Burton on January 7, 2002. Lonny worked for General Motors as a Machine Operator for 33 years before retiring in 1996. He was a pastor for 15 plus years at Eastside Community of Christ Church. Lonny enjoyed woodworking and loved to grow beautiful roses. He was also a camp cook for many, many years. Lonny is survived by his wife, Mary Duncan-Varner of Grand Blanc; children, Gregory (Melissa) Varner of Columbiaville, Betty Jo (Kevin) Parsell of Swartz Creek, Timothy (Diane) Varner of Swartz Creek; step-children, Kevin Duncan of Mt. Morris, and Michelle Duncan of Mt. Morris; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (Vernon) Barr of Missouri, Mary Jane Hock of Freeland, and Elaine Herman of Midland. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Taister; wife, Sharon (Church) Varner in 2001. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
