Lonnie David STUART

STUART, Lonnie David - Age 61, of Durand, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, September 13, 2009 at his residence, surrounded by his family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for the past year. Lonnie was born November 23, 1947 in Flint, the son of David Melvin and Dorothy Ione (Hurlburt) Stuart. He married his soul mate, Lisa Kay Balzer, April 25, 1997 in Toledo, OH. Lonnie was employed by Ideal Share the Spare in Howell. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Flint. Lonnie enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, riding his bike and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Surviving are: wife, Lisa; 2 sons, John (Laurie) of Lake and Edward (Donna) of Clark Lake; daughter, Keisha (Dimas) Hernandez of Swartz Creek; 7 grandchildren, Dominic, Zackary, Kyle, Felicily, Katilynn, Layna, Mason; brother, Monte (Audrey) of Marion, IN; brother by choice, Darrell Copeman of Byron; special brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tina and Greg Witters of Bancroft and Susan and Charles Johnson of Flint; many special sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews; special friends, Jay, John, Ralph, Teresa and Sheila. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Raymond and Ronald; daughter by choice, Jennifer; grandson, Marshall. The family wishes to extend special thanks to, Mary Williams of McLaren Visiting Nurses, 11th floor nurses at McLaren, Beverly and Aldilna; Dr. Iung, Dr. Singh and staff and all of his friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 6380 Beecher Road, Flint, with Pastor Steven Lockman officiating. Burial immediately following at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek on Monday from 6-9 PM, Tuesday from 11 AM - 4 PM and 6-9 PM, at church Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service. A sharing service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday at 7 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Lonnie D. Stuart Memorial Fund.
