Lois (Murchie) Scheib passed away on November 13 in Detroit, Michigan. Lois was born on July 2, 1934 in Masonville, Michigan-the seventh of ten children to Robert and Arlene (Hamilton) Murchie. After high school graduation, Lois moved from the U.P. to Flint, Michigan, later moving to Detroit. She was married to Eino H. Pelto in 1955 who died a short time later in 1957. In 1959, Lois married Harry J. Scheib, had six children, and is survived by five of these: Ann Michael, Nancy (Thomas Mack) Patricia (David Farley) and Joseph. Youngest daughter Jennifer, passed away in 2018. Lois is survived by husband, Harry, to whom she was married 63 years. She has one remaining sibling: Margaret Ruth Grobe of Rapid River, Michigan and was presented with eight cherished grandchildren: Joshua (Sasha) Scheib; Sarah (Jason Smith); Erica (Richard Russell); Kevin, Chelsea, Robert, Ethan and Alden as well as two great-grandchildren: Clara and Jaxon Scheib. Lois loved babies and was amply rewarded with them. She is also survived by special niece, Mary-Beth (Matthew) Stevens; friend, Pat Waderlow; and many other nieces and nephews. There was no finer cook or baker than Lois who was legendary for her canning and freezing, her pies, breads, pasties, and her Sunday dinners at “the farm.” A busy member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Howell, Michigan, Lois planned and cooked many meals for hundreds of patrons at numerous church festivities. She was also an avid gardener and loved growing her own flowers. Floral tributes or donations to St. Jude Hospital are entirely appropriate ways to honor Lois. Visitation will take place from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad Street, Linden, with a Rosary at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30AM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 6481 Faussett Rd., Howell, with visitation from 9:30AM until the time of Mass.
