Lois Florkowski

FLORKOWSKI, Lois Fern -- Age 95, of Flint, passed away peacefully, February 22, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11AM Friday March 1 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, our temporary location at Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be 5-8PM Thursday and 10AM Friday until time of service at Hill Creek Church. Lois was born in Flint, Michigan, August 3, 1923 to the late Cloyce and Freda (Schrader) Miller. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1941. She married Daniel Florkowski on February 7, 1942. He preceded her in death in 2002. She worked at Woodland Elementary in the lunchroom for many years. Mom was a woman of strong faith and the heart of our family, she shaped us by her Christian example. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Those grandchildren were perfect and could do no wrong (only in her eyes.) Lois attended Bethel Park Church until she was home bound. Her love for the Lord was evident in everything she did, and she was loved by all. She is survived by her children; Robert Florkowski, Kimberly and Jeffery Boike; grandchildren, Tyler and Katie Boike, Megan and Michael Ilitch, Connor, and Hannah Boike; great grandchildren; Teagan, Tatum and Trace Boike; brother, Ervin Miller; sister in laws, Bonnie Miller, Darline Miller and Susan Miller; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by parents, husband; son, Daniel Jr.; sister and best friend, Dorothy; brothers, Cloyce, Ralph, Kenneth, Donald, Darwin, and Frederick; brother in law, Clifford; sister in laws, Patricia, Ceil, Joanne and Ilene; brother in law and sister in law, Harry (Anastasia) Florkowski. A special thanks to the staff at Willowbrook Manor. They were more than caregivers, they were family, especially Kiki (Loretta). They know that Lois "loved them little, loved them big, loved them like a big, big pig." Mom will be greatly missed, but we rejoice that we will all be together again some day. See you later, Mama! You were simply magnificent!
