Ball, Lois Ann (Withrow) - Age 98, of Flint Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 7 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 9 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment with her husband Harry at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Humane Society of Genesee County or Amazing Grace Animal Rescue in Saginaw. Lois was born October 16, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of James and Margaret Withrow. She moved to Saginaw, MI in 1935, graduating from Saginaw High in 1943. Lois married Harry Ball on March 15, 1947 and served as an Army wife until his retirement in 1964. During their Army life they had been stationed in Missouri, Georgia, California and twice in Germany; but their home base was always Michigan. In 1964 they settled in Flint and she went to work at Sears for almost 30 years. She was a wonderful mom and grandma who loved having her family gathered for holidays and special events. Lois was at one time a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed card games. Lois is survived by her sister, Peggy Wrobel; children, Margaret Giordano, Robert (Patricia) Ball, Ronald (Susan) Ball, Diane Ball, Cynthia Breckons, Merrie (Scot) Johnson; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; sister, Jean Heinlein; daughters, Beverly Ball and Susan (Roy) Storey. She will be greatly missed, but we know she is now in heaven with no more pain.
