Metiva, Lloyd Don "Boots” - Age 90, of Flint Township, died January 26, 2021 from Covid 19 complications. Private family services will be officiated by Pastor Michael Case. Lloyd was born March 8, 1930 in Flint the son of Lloyd Edward Metiva and Cecelia Anastasia (Golonski) Metiva. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Korea. He attended G.M.I.
Lloyd married Joan Fox on Dec 31, 1950. They had 2 children he adored.
Lloyd married Shirley Palmer on July 5, 1984 in Davison. He retired from Buick in 1993 with 46 years of service. Lloyd was a founding member of the Security Federal Credit Union and was on the board of directors for about 20 years and served as President for two terms. He also served on the board of directors of the Lapeer Credit Union.
Lloyd enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. He especially loved helping family, friends, and coworkers. He loved all animals and had many pets and would not hesitate to stop and help any animal in distress. He loved playing board games with family and Blackjack at the casinos. He enjoyed summer vacations at Higgins Lake.
Even though Lloyd was an only child he had many relatives in his family he enjoyed visiting. Most of which still reside in central Michigan.
Surviving are his loving wife of 36 years Shirley; daughter Kim (Neil) Harmeson of Melbourne FL; son Scott (Linda) Metiva of Burton MI; stepchildren Daelyn (Terry) Pierce of Fenton MI; Dr. Richard (Kim) Palmer of Acton CA, and Julie (Doug) Spiller of Grand Blanc MI; grandchildren Lauren Metiva of Austin TX, Todd (Shawn) Harmeson of Pendleton, IN. Ryan (Amy) Hammond of Round Rock TX; Jeff (Laurel) Hammond of Byron MI, Mitchell (Kristin) Pierce of Fenton MI, Meagan (Will) Swann of Charleston WV, Nicholas (Dr. Blair) Spiller of Volente TX, and Benjamin Spiller of Sumner IA ; and 7 great grandchildren.
