Lloyd was born on November 3, 1934, in Fairview, North Carolina to the late John & Minnie Gregory. Lloyd graduated from Fairview High School in 1952. He then followed the automotive industry boom to Flint, Michigan where he worked for Chevrolet for 30 years, retiring in 1985 as a supervisor in the shipping and receiving department. Though his employment was at Chevrolet his true passion was the work he did for his Lord and Savior. Lloyd attended Michigan Bible Institute and served nearly his whole adult life as a General Baptist Minister. His pride and joy to that calling was his service to nursing homes and visiting those in need. In his earlier years he enjoyed fishing and taking his children to North Carolina; where he always felt at home amongst its majestic mountains.
In later years Lloyd became quite the Checker's Master; he also loved Penny Bingo and Skip Bo. Playing Skip Bo is how he met his wife, Martha. Lloyd loved his family dearly and will be missed greatly.
Lloyd is survived by his loving wife, Martha; his four children, Ivy (Jeffrey) Ernest, Bonnie (Danny) Caldwell, Daniel (Lisa) Gregory and David (Vaneta) Gregory; his four stepchildren, Charles (Margaret) Dunn, Anthonio Dunn, LaShawn (Michael) Lenton and Maria (Ricky) Stephens-El. He is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews too numerous to list but never forgotten.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children's mother and first wife, Inadell and his siblings.
