Lindon James

JAMES, Lindon Donald - Age 82 of Linden, died January 20, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. The Rev. Heather Barta officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Friday with a Masonic service at 7 PM at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 10 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Wounded Warrior Project. Lindon was born April 23, 1933 in Detroit, the son of Lindon D. and Gaynell U. (Roush) James. He is a veteran of the US Army and held the rank of Corporal from 1952 to 1954. Lindon married Sharon Kyle on July 5, 1952. He worked as a serviceman for 40 years at Michigan Consolidated Gas Company, part of Detroit Edison. He was active in the Masonic Lodge and was an avid hunter. Survived by: wife, Sharon; children, David (Debra) James of Linden, Colleen (Albert) Sawaya of Gladwin, Kevin (Peggy) James of Alpena, Jonathan (Molly) James of Asheville, NC; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Philip (Cathy) James of Flushing, sisters, Gayle (Robert) Pouliot of Lexington, Norma Dankenbring of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews.
