PALMER, Linda Louise - Age 81, of Swansboro, NC, formerly of Flint, MI, passed away on January 22, 2025, in Newport, North Carolina. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cornerstone Church in Highland, Michigan, in Linda’s memory. Linda was born on February 27, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, to Fred and Etoile (Zimmerman) Tonks. Her name, meaning "beautiful" in Spanish and Portuguese, perfectly reflected her inner and outer beauty. Linda possessed a kind and generous spirit, which was evident in all aspects of her life. A devoted wife, mother, and friend, Linda inherited her mother’s artistic talents and expressed her creativity through floral arrangements and decorations. She was a proud and enthusiastic Mary Kay consultant, known for her vibrant energy and entrepreneurial spirit. Linda’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a longtime member of Cornerstone Church, she found a second family within the congregation. She dedicated herself to church activities, including mission trips around the world, where she shared her ministry and created treasured memories. An animal lover at heart, Linda found joy in God’s creatures and adopted many pets over the years, offering them love and care. In her later years, she moved to North Carolina to be close to her daughter and son-in-law. Linda’s ability to find happiness in life’s simple moments was inspiring; her laughter and joy were infectious, and you could often find her singing or dancing. Linda is survived by her daughter, Laura, and son-in-law, Joe Rotchford, of Swansboro, NC; her siblings, Barbara (Al) Villarreal of Swartz Creek, MI, and Darryl (Ina) Tonks of Flushing, MI; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Etoile Tonks; her children, Susan, David, and Christopher. Linda’s beautiful spirit, unwavering faith, and boundless love will be deeply missed but forever cherished by all who knew her. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
