Linda J. Kaines

KAINES, Linda J. - Age 80, of Fenton, passed away July 22, 2023. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church 9455 Hilton Rd., Brighton, with Pastor Brian Tweedie officiating. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton and from 10AM until the time of service Wednesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to Cornerstone Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Linda was born September 14, 1942 in Detroit, the daughter of Robert and June (Spickenagel) Herold. She was a graduate of Waterford Township High School and Henry Ford Nursing School. She married Michael Kaines on June 26, 1964. She worked as a nurse while her husband was finishing dental school and then as a homemaker after her children were born. For many years she was into running, skiing, playing tennis and managing a household full of kids and grandkids. Mike and Linda enjoyed camping and RVing with their kids when they were young and took many trips all over the United States. In later years, they traveled with their dear friends Bill and Gerri Forbes and had many adventures together. Above all, Linda was a strong Christian and knew Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. She attended and was very involved at Tyrone Covenant Presbyterian Church in Fenton and Cornerstone Evangelical Church in Brighton. As her memory failed  and she lost the ability to recall words, she could still sing along to hymns and prayed often for comfort and strength from her Savior. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, gift of mercy and the way she loved and encouraged her family and friends. She is now at peace in the arms of Jesus. She is survived by her husband, Michael; children, Martha (Mike) Owocki, Joel (Kirstin) Kaines and Sarah (Eric) Brott; grandchildren, Rachel (Nate), Ellen (Brandon), Marybeth (Joe), Sam, Niall, Dalton, Lindsey, Joshua and Ezekiel; five great-grandchildren; sister, Vicki Gillham.
