DOWLAND, Linda Sue - Age 51, of Mt. Morris, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. Services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Cameron D. Eads officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 10 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Mott Children's Health Center, 806 Tuuri Place, Flint, MI 48503. Linda was born January 25, 1960 in Flint, the daughter of Fred Strobel, Jr. and Patricia Drew. She was a 1978 graduate of Hamady High School. She married Terry Lynn Dowland June 13, 1981 in Flint. She was employed by Mott Community College for over 30 years. Linda had resided in Mt. Morris since 1981 coming from Flint. She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan. Surviving are: husband, Terry; 2 children, Megan Dowland of Flint and Ben Dowland of Flushing; grandson, Blaine Dowland; mother, Patricia (Strobel) Barber of Flint; 5 siblings, Barbara and husband Gerald Dillingham of St. Charles, Audrey Lasky of Mt. Morris, Patrick and wife Marsha Strobel of Fenton, Rod and wife Tammy Strobel of Flushing and Angela and husband Pat Pindur of Montrose; many nieces and nephews.
