Linda Ann DECKER

DECKER, Linda Ann, age 51, of Grand Blanc, passed away Friday, April 30, 2010 at her home after a 15 year long and courageous battle with cancer, with the help of her Lord. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Fr. Kusitino Cobona celebrant. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery. Linda will lie in state 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. with the family present to receive friends. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, Linda would like contributions made to her daughter Alexandra. Linda was born March 12, 1959 in Flint the daughter of the late Carl and Theresa (Smith) Decker and has resided in the Mt. Morris and Grand Blanc area all of her life and she attended St. Mary Catholic School in her youth. During her battle with cancer she went on to graduate with an Associates Degree as a Surgical Technician and a Bachelor Degree in Health Administration. She has been employed at Hurley Hospital for the past ten years. Linda was a member and devoted Catholic at Holy Family Catholic Church. Her courageous strength to fight this disease came from her devoted faith, love and determination to be there to raise her daughter Alexandra Therese. In addition, Linda has ten siblings, Alan and Sandy Decker, Sharon Call, Janice and Robert Potts, Terry Decker, Kerry Decker, Diane Martinez, Carl Decker, Tammy Bellant, Cindy Blower, Laurie Decker; several nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; many devoted friends, doctors and colleagues, including her special family , Jim and Sally Bergstrom.
