Lillian L. Mattson

MATTSON, Lillian L.- Age 81, of Swartz Creek, formerly of Gaines, died Wednesday, October 15, 2003 at Durand Convalescent Center.  Funeral services will be held 1:00PM Saturday, October 18, 2003 at Hope Lutheran Church, 7355 W. Silver Lake Rd., Linden.  Pastor Lawrence Eckart officiating.  Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Linden.  Visitation will be held 1-4 & 6-9 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes; Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and from 12 noon until the time of service Saturday at the church.  Those desiring may make contributions to the Erin Mattson Memorial Fund.  Lillian was born September 11, 1922 in Virginia, Minnesota, the daughter of Oscar and Gertrude (Lindgren) Lindquist.  She married Richard E. Mattson June 1, 1946; he preceded her in death May 22, 1998.  She had been very active in 4-H, PTA, Swartz Creek and Gaines Band Boosters and was a den mother for the Cub Scouts; she also loved being a farmers wife, her family and horses.  Surviving are: 4 children; Thomas and wife Jan of Linden, Richard and wife Peggy of Swartz Creek, Lawrence of Mesa, Arizona, Jeanne Westland of Flint; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother, John and wife Kaye Stickney of Wisconsin; many nieces, nephews and friends at Mari-Dan Miller Farms.  Friends may share their online condolences for the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
