NELSON, Lila Fay (Crim) - age 82, formerly of Linden, died Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 9450 Duffield Rd., Gaines with Fr. Jonathan Perrotta celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton where a scripture service will be held at 7 PM. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund. Lila was born April 5, 1935 in Oran, MO, the daughter of George and Glenna (Kay) Vogel. She married Troy L. Nelson on September 30, 1983 and he preceded her in death on October 8, 2009. She was the Executive Secretary to the Director of the Flint Mass Transit Authority (M.T.A.) for 20 years retiring in 1987. Mrs. Nelson was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. As a member of the American Business Women's Association she was awarded the Professional Secretary International award in 1979. Surviving are: two sons, Douglas (Bonnie) Crim of Haslett, David (Donna) Crim of Haslett; daughter-in-law, Margaret Crim of Davison; six grandchildren, Amanda, Michelle, Julianna, Zachary, Joseph and Alexandria; sister, Martha Jo McBride of Cape Girardeau, MO. She was also preceded in death by: her son, Donald Wayne Crim in 2011; and sister, Annette Lale. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
