PLUDE, Leonard C. Â Age 82, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, August 6, 2005 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Amos Wischmeyer celebrant. Interment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Thursday and 12-9 Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. A rosary will be held 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Mary Queen of Angels, North End Soup Kitchen or the charity of their choice. Mr. Plude was born March 4, 1923 in Flint the son of Lawrence J. and Dora A. (Krotzer) Plude. He was a graduate of St. Matthew High School. Mr. Plude was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II on the Pacific Front on Johnston Island. He married Barbara King on September 28, 1945 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint. Mr. Plude was employed as a Rigger/Ironworker with Local #25 and also was a State of Michigan Boxing Judge and Inspector for 40 years. Mr. Plude was inducted into the Greater Flint Sports Hall of Fame on December 4, 2004. Mr. Plude was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the D.A.V. # 3. Surviving are: loving wife of 60 years, Barbara; 12 children, Michael (Reta) of Holly, Kathleen (Michael) Paul of Alma, Eileen (Jeffrey) Attwood of Swartz Creek, Therese of Burton, Margaret (Richard) Schaefer of Fenton, Barbara Robinson of Swartz Creek, Maureen (Allen) Slamer of Battle Creek, Mark (Susan) of Fenton, Bruce (Becky) of Tawas City, Karen (Michael) Browder of IL, Paul (Nancy) of Flushing, Julia of Swartz Creek; 21 grandchildren, Chad, Amanda, Monyka, Joshua, Lindsay, Erica, Rich, Charles, Andrew, Stephen, Vincent, Kristin, Sarah, Jacob, Bridget, Jenna, Eric, Megan, Masun, Logan, Natalie; six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Gabriel, Alison, Sydney, Brandon, Justin; niece, Sue Caughlin; many nephews; life-long friend, Jack Carso; He was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Raymond; three sisters, Louise, Lois, and Norma; two children; and a grandson.
