Leonard Pilipovich

PILIPOVICH, Leonard, age 82 of Flint Twp, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Nathan's Place in Swartz Creek. Leonard was born in Flint on October 7, 1926 the son of Nicholas and Ernestine (Vosic) Pilipovich. He has lived in the Flint area most of his lifetime. Leonard graduated from Flint Northern High School. He and Elizabeth (Helen) Seely were married in Flint on October 28, 1972 and she preceded him in death on November 20, 2007. Leonard owned and operated Auto World, Inc.auto repair from 1974 until retirement in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in W.W.II. He enjoyed Classic cars and Nascar racing, and spending time at New Smryna Beach, Florida, moving back to Flint several years ago. He and his wife enjoyed their dogs, especially the poodles. Surviving are 2 sons: Leonard Phillips of Edgewater, Florida, David Pilipovich of Flushing, a step-son Jerry (Dawn) Ursery of St. Charles, MI, Step-daughter, Cheryl Ursery of Flint, grandson, Joel Phillips of Clio, several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a sister, Ann Jakubczyk of Davison. Leonard was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Nicholas Phillips. Cremation rites have been accorded. A service of remembrance will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 2:00 P.M. Sunday to service time. Leonard's family would like the give their thanks to the staff of Nathan's House assisted living for their love and care given to Leonard.
