Leonard Paul "Hammer" Nelson

NELSON, Leonard Paul "Hammer" - Age 54, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2008 at his residence with his family by his side.  Services will take place on Monday, February 4th at 1:00 p.m. at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd.,Fenton, with Pastor Eugene Blankenship officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 pm at the funeral home. Hammer was born the son of Duane and Joyce (Wilson) Nelson in Highland Park, March 5, 1953. He married Elizabeth "Ann" Fisk in April 12, 1974. Hammer was a member of Church of Christ, Fenton and a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. Surviving are his loving wife of 33 years, Ann Fisk, 4 children; Chuck Nelson, Jeff(Kim)Nelson, Lisa (Todd)Taylor, Duane (Maralee) Nelson;  grandchildren; Amanda, Charles, Joseph, Jeffrey, Hailey, Karly, Alan, Kayla, Kylie, Madison and Tony; mother, Joyce (Wilson) Nelson; brothers Ken and Alan Nelson and three sisters, Marie, Judy and Carol; several neices and nephews and many special friends. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his father Duane Nelson and two sisters Colleen McKeon and Diane Nelson. A special thank you to the hospice nurses that cared for Mr. Nelson.
