Leonard Carter

CARTER, Leonard McKeighan "Red" - Age 82, of Flint, died June 11, 2014. Services will be held 2 PM Monday June 30 at the Bristol Road Church of Christ, 1315 W.Bristol Rd., Flint, Mr. Anthony McKee officiating. Visitation will be 12 -2 PM the day of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to the family. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Red was born June 2, 1932 in Flint the son of Bruner Alexander Carter and Nannie Clara (Huffman) Carter. He married Sally Murray on January 29, 1972 in Flint; she preceded him in death November 9, 2010. He had worked at the I.M.A. Auditorium, The Whiting, I.M.A. Sports Arena, Drive-in Theaters. He was a lifetime honorary member of Local 201. He was a Shade Tree mechanic. He loved motorcycles and built Triumph motorcycles for 30 years. He loved hunting, going up north for the summer, fishing, spending time with family and friends. Surviving are: daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Reed, Patty Karrick; grandchildren, Carly Rae, Reiko Anna, Tony, Amanda, Mike, Alicia, Scott (Kendra) Reed, Jeff (Robin) Reed, Angela Reed, Chrystal(Mark) Macauley, Michael (Krista) Reed; great-grandchildren, Charlie Rae, Marshal, Riley, Danielle, Nathaniel, Nathen; sister, Clara; brother Sam (Judy) Chapman; the Ivanhoe family; good friends, Billy, Tony, Marquita, Dawn, Doug, and many more; many nieces and nephews; and his cat Tippy Tail. He was preceded in death by his wife Sally; sons, Chuck "Dozer", Warren "Chetta"; parents; sisters Gloria, Thelma, and Dixie; brothers, Bruce, Doug, Randy, Lyle, Jack, and Lloyd.
