Leona Priestley

PRIESTLEY, Leona June - Age 95, of Fenton, died on October 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday and 2 PM until time of service on Thursday. Those desiring may make contributions to The American Cancer Society. Mrs. Priestley was born June 2, 1919 in Detroit, the daughter of Clare and Garnet (Ponn) Prince. She married Myrl, the love of her life in 1938 and would have celebrated 76 years of marriage. Leona resided in Atlanta, MI from 1966-1995, then lived in Fenton for the rest of her life with her very special granddaughter, Robin Risner. She had a love of family, friends, outdoors, gardening and canning. She is survived by daughters, Sandra (Clayton) Simmons, Marjorie Haddix; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Cooley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Myrl; brother, Charles; grandchildren, Rodney Risner and Janice Renee Mays.
