COOK, Leo Roy - age 76, of Gaines formerly of Byron, died Tuesday, September 27, 2011. Masonic service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 East Broad Street, Linden, held under the auspices of Byron Masonic Lodge #80 F.&A.M. Burial will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Leo was born June 3, 1935 in Flint, the son of George and Julia (Stevens) Cook. He married JoAnn Stevens in Ellsworth on September 3, 1980. He retired from Hurley Medical Center after 25 years of service. He had also worked as an iron worker, used car salesman, landlord and at Chapel Lake in his earlier years. He was a lifelong member of the Byron Masonic Lodge #80 F.&A.M. and a member of the Order of The Eastern Star, Fenton Chapter #248. Leo was also a member of the Flint Eagles #629. Surviving are wife, JoAnn; 8 children; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters and a host of other family members and friends.
