BEAIRD, Leo  Age 70, of Edmond, OK, formerly of Flint and Swartz Creek area died Friday, August 6, 2005. Funeral services will be held 7 PM Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Jim Nelson and Guy Lockery co-officiating. Interment will take place at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-9 PM Tuesday and 12 PM until the time of the service in Wednesday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Leo was born April 22, 1935 in Arbyrd, MO, the son of Cecil and Verble (Parnell) Beaird. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving mostly in Germany from 1958-1960. Leo was a poured wall contractor owning and operating Beaird Poured Walls. After retiring from the concrete business, Leo purchased a neighborhood bar, Leos Red Ribbon. Leo loved working, had a great sense of humor, but mostly loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He moved to Oklahoma a year ago and was lovingly cared for by his daughter, Cari. Surviving are: son, Michael Beaird of Flint; daughter Cari and husband, Mark Bowen of Edmund, OK; three grandchildren, Dustin, Grant and Savannah Bowen; mother of his children, Sue Beaird Daniel; brother, Edward Bud Beaird and wife, Lervine of Swartz Creek; special nephew, John Beaird and wife, Arlene of Swartz Creek; nephew, Don Beaird; niece, Polly Beaird Galat; special mother-in-law, Pauline Leiss; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Judy Bay.
