Lela M. CLOSE

CLOSE, Lela M., age 93, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Brian's House. Lela was born January 12, 1916, in Caro, Michigan, to Herbert and Letitia Parsell. Lela leaves her husband of 69 years, Fay T. Close; son, Ralph D. Close (Jan); 4 grandsons, Steven (Julie), Michael (Kina), Alan (Sara), Joel (Erika); 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Lela has been a member of the West Flint Church of the Nazarene since 1928, where she served faithfully in Sunday School, Missions, Bible Quizzing, and many other ministries. Her two greatest passions were teaching Bible Quizzing and researching and teaching Bible Prophecy. Lela drove school bus for Swartz Creek Community Schools for 15 years. Visitation will be 2-4PM and 6-8PM Thursday, March 19 at West Flint Church of the Nazarene, 2254 S. Dye Rd., Flint. Funeral Services will be 11AM Friday, March 20 at the church. Visitation Friday will be 1 hour prior at church. Burial will be at Bristol Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to WFN Children and Teen Bible Quiz Ministry.
