Lee Johnson

July 28, 1939 — March 17, 2021

Johnson. Lee J. - Age 81, of Linden,  passed away peacefully around midnight on March 17, 2021 with his family at his side.  He became ill Saturday and died from multiple compounding issues.  No services will be held. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Ascension Genesys Foundation. Lee was born July 28, 1939 in Union City, TN, the son of Lee Harry and Helen (Davis) Johnson. He taught at Southwestern High School, Mott Community College and Northwest Oakland Technical Center. He taught his last class in April 2020 at Mott Community College. In addition to being a great dad, he was a beloved teacher, coach, mentor to so many, and fierce advocate for the well being of his “kids”, both us and all those who were and are still part of us. Our family always included so many, and he loved you all.  We are devastated, but have comfort knowing that he’s now at peace, probably watching March Madness with Joe. He was a good man.  He cared about his world and always backed his feelings and words with action.  He quietly did wonderful things for so many, never seeking credit.  He will live forever in the hearts and minds of thousands of students who he touched...who could ask for more? Lee is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joanne; children, Jerry L. (Cheryl) Johnson, Teri J. (Marty) Stephens, Debbie L. (Mike) Dahlgren, Bill (Susan) Johnson; grandchildren, Christopher Ward, Joe Ward, Lauren Johnson and Emily Johnson; brother, Tedd Johnson. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe. Peace Big Guy... We are really going to miss you!, your laugh, and your wise council.  Enjoy your rest.  You certainly deserve it.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
