Lee Eldon BATCHELDER

BATCHELDER, Lee Eldon, age 74, of Davison, departed this life Thursday, September, 29, 2011 at Hurley Medical Center. His is in the arms of God, our Saviour. Funeral Services wil be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1225 Robt. T. Longway Blvd, Flint. Bishop Todd Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly. Visitation will be 3:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. . Lee was born June 3, 1937 in Highland Park, the son of Eldon Spencer and Helen Emma (Rummel) Batchelder. He married Dorothy Ann (Tina) Bosak Brown in Linden on February 14, 1983. Lee served for 4 years in the U.S Army during the Korean War as a MP Detective and and also served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War as a Radar Repairman. He was employed as an Lead Electronic Technician by Borroughs Corporation. He was also an Elder of the Melchizedek Priesthood and taught Sunday School, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lee was a Boy Scout and later a Boy Scout Leader. He enjoyed hunting, boating, woodworking, fishing, camping, playing guitar, flying airplanes and spending time with his family and sharing the gospel. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of Davison; 3 daughters, Lauri Gordon of Holly, Cherie (Christopher Spencer) Berg of Birch Run, Colette Metcalf of Davison; 7 grandchildren, Steve (Crissy Ervin) Gordon, Carrie (Scott) Limburg, Stephanie Berg, Kendra, Jamie and Sami Metcalf, Kyle Spencer; 5 great-grandchildren Tristen, James and Gracie Limburg, Ayden and Trinity Gordon. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dale; and son-in-law, Carroll Gordon. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
