Leah Marie CARDINAL

CARDINAL, Leah Marie (Foster) - Age 87, joined her husband, Charles on Wednesday, June 10, 2009. A Christian service will be at 12PM Monday, June 15, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Gary Yeager officiating. Visitation will be 1-4 and 6-8PM Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. Anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory can do so to Avalon Hospice or to the American Heart Association. Mrs. Cardinal was born March 30, 1922 in Butternut, MI, the daughter of Ray and Susie (Garlock) Foster. She married Charles Cardinal May 4, 1940. They had 61 years together when he passed away in 2001. Together they had three children, Beverly (Edward) Huyck of Swartz Creek, Charles (Pat) Cardinal of Grand Blanc, Larry (Carol) Cardinal of Bradenton, FL. Also to cherish her memory are 10 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She leaves one sister, Doris (Dell) Pratt; 4 brothers, Ray, Wayne (Dolores), Robert (Beverly), Keith (Charlene); special friend, Mavis. For many years she received great gratification teaching Cake Decorating for Mott Community Education. Many in our community have enjoyed her beautiful, delicious cakes. Her hobby was sending greeting cards for every special occasion to everyone in her church and to all who lived in Cedarwood Senior Center where she lived and especially to her family and friends. The family sends their gratitude to Avalon Hospice and Unity Christian Church for all their help and prayers.
