Lawrence Robert Jorgensen, Sr.

JORGENSEN, Lawrence Robert, Sr.- age 89 of Swartz Creek, passed away on August 16, 2023. Lawrence's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church located at 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, MI 48473. The celebrant will be Lawrence's son, Rev. Fr. Alan P. Jorgensen. A rosary will be prayed at 5 PM on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel (8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473), with visitation following until 7 PM.  Lawrence was born on August 15, 1934, in Des Moines, IA to his parents Henry and Viola (Bongard) Jorgensen. On May 17th, 1958, he married Therese M. Seeley, and she preceded him on December 20th, 2014. Lawrence served in the U.S Army and retired from General Motors in 1997 as a Supervisor after 37 years of service. Lawrence is survived by his loving children: Jenifer and husband Ricky Brownell; Lynne and husband Tom Byrne; Lawrence Jorgensen Jr. and wife Ana; John Jorgensen and wife Tracy; Reverend Father Alan Jorgensen; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece Janice Mccloskey, sister-in-law Marilyn (Murray) Jorgensen and her son, James Jorgensen. Lawrence was preceded in death by his father, Henry Jorgensen; mother, Viola Quack; his wife of 56 years, Therese Jorgensen; brother, Jerome Jorgensen; sister, Joan Mccloskey and her son Michael Mccloskey.
