Lawrence James HICKS

HICKS, Lawrence James -- Age 82, of Vero Beach, FL, and Fenton, died Sunday, March 21 at Sterling House, Vero Beach. Services will be held 5:30 PM Thursday, March 25 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will be from 4 PM until the time of the service on Thursday. He was born November 25, 1927 in Flint and had been a winter resident of Vero Beach for 20 years. Mr. Hicks was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He was selected Allstate football player from Northern High School. In 1954 he graduated from the University of Michigan Law School and was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He was associated with many law firms in Michigan including Beltz & Behm, Bancroft, John Nickola, Randy Schmidlin and David Salim. Mr. Hicks retired in 2000. He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association. Mr. Hicks is survived by wife of 57 years, Nanette Hicks; son, Michael James Hicks, Jr. of East Lansing; daughters, Kimberly and Lisa Hicks, both of Fenton; grandchildren, Derek Riddlemoser of Lansing, Jason Hicks of Clearwater, FL, Michael James Hicks, III of Orlando, FL; step-grandson, Christopher Hicks of Fenton; and great-grandchildren, Michael James, IV, Jade and Jeremiah Hicks of Orlando.
