CAREY, Lawrence F. - Age 77, of Flushing, died Friday, November 24, 2006 at Holly Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, Pastor Leonard Saunders officiating. Burial in Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Sunday, 1-3 and 5-8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association. Mr. Carey was born July 9, 1929 in Gulliver, Michigan the son of Sylvester and Willanna (Carr) Carey. He married Sybil Lenore Brown October 16, 1948 in Pontiac. He had been a resident of Flushing since 1999 having also lived in Gaylord and Clarkston. He retired from Pontiac Motor Division in 1983 with 33 years of service. Mr. Carey loved hunting, fishing, woodworking and was a good mechanic. Surviving are his wife, Sybil Lenore Carey of Flushing; 3 children, Linda and husband Michael Golz of Wadsworth, OH, David and wife Janet Carey of Swartz Creek, Frances and husband Karl Beaudry of New Port Richey, FL; 8 grandchildren, Jason and wife Kristi Livingston, Carrie Fredrick, Matthew Carey, Laurie Golz, Alyson Brickey, Steve Beaudry, Brian Beaudry and Jennifer Beaudry; 6 great-grandchildren, Savanna, Megan, Ethan and Linsey Livingston, Angelina and Matthew Carey; twin sister, Florence and husband Zane Mitchell of Reed City; 2 brothers, George and wife Wave Carey of Gulliver, James and wife Carolyn Carey of Waterford; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Carey; 3 sisters, Jane Boback, Marie Martin and Annamae Griffin; grandson, Jeffrey Little in 1991.
