BURDT, Lawrence John "Larry"- Age 80 of Swartz Creek, passed away March 27, 2021 after battling cancer for 15 years. A public visitation will be held Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 1-5 PM at Sharp Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd, Grand Blanc. A private family service will be held and can be viewed by Live stream at 11:30 Am Saturday April 24 at Larry's page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Larry was born March 13, 1941, the son of Rudolph and Wanda (Newman) Burdt. He was a 1959 Graduate of Flint Technical High School. Following high school, Larry attended Mott Community College, GMI, and went on to get a Michigan State Landscape Design Certification. Larry not only worked at General Motors for 30 years, but he also owned Genesee Lawn Designs. He was a member of GALNA (Genesee Area Landscape Nursery Association), and a member of MNLA (Michigan Nursery and Landscape Association). He won many awards for Landscape Designs, Larry had a deep passion for creating truly beautiful things. Larry spent 60 years with the love of his life, his wife, Sharon Gramer Burdt. He was a very loving and proud father and grandfather. He enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, bowling, boating, and he was a true "Sparty Fan". Larry also enjoyed summers up north at the cabin in the woods, fishing on his pontoon, eating with his "Breakfast Buddies", and had a special love of dancing. Larry lived his life with integrity, courage, and joy. He loved his family. Larry had a generous spirit and was always willing to help others. He was a very giving person. Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon; three children: Shannan (David) Clemenshaw of Swartz Creek, Darrin (Angie) Burdt of Mt. Morris, and Cortney (Jeff) Kelley of Swartz Creek, his 6 grandchildren: Khyl (Stephanie) Clemenshaw, Ashley and Logan Burdt, and Mackenzie and Lynnzie Kelley, and his two great-grandchildren: Sloane and Tate Clemenshaw. Larry was preceded in death by his parents: Wanda Burdt, Rudolph Burdt and stepmother, Rita Burdt. Rest well in the Lord's loving arms and dance forever more in your summer place. Know you will always be loved and missed, but kept alive in our hearts and memories. We welcome the day we see you again.
