Pastor Paul Christiansen officiating LaVera was born to Frank and Iva (Hunter) Nichol in Bad Axe on July 28, 1930. She married Wesley W. Kerbyson on September 5, 1948. LaVera was a good and faithful servant having given her heart to the Lord in 1955 and together with Wesley, led her family on God's path. She served in many capacities in God's church and strove to always show the love of Jesus to everyone she met. She was a hard worker and gave much of herself, be it preserving fruits and vegetables for the household, encouraging others with an extensive card ministry for many years, or serving meals to the Clio Rotary Club. During the last four years of her life, she discovered the newly published Gaither Homecoming Bible and proceeded to gift more than 150 of them to others so they could be blessed as well. She loved her family and enjoyed traveling, camping, and learning with them. Cherishing her memory are her daughters, Marsha Ramsey, Lois St. John, and son-in-law, Ronald Kosha; grandchildren, Krista, David (Stefanie), Steven (Jill), Jonathan (Amber), and Brandon (Jaime). She was blessed with and enjoyed 20 great-grandchildren and was anticipating one great, great grandchild in 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley; daughter, Marlene; son-in-law, Ronald Ramsey; brothers, Jack and Tom Nichol.
