MATTA, Laurice Assad (Nemer) - age 82, of Flint, died September 4, 2016 at Regency of Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Thursday, September 8, 2016 at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 W. Lennon Rd., Flint with Very Reverend Fr. Joseph M. Abud officiating. Entombment will be held at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday and 11 AM - 2 PM and 4 PM - 8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a Trisagion Service will be prayed at 8 PM. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Thursday at the church. Mrs. Matta was born August 14, 1934 in Ain Arab, Lebanon, the daughter of Assad and Latefi (Al-Baba) Nemer. She married Anis Matta on July 11, 1966 in Bhamdoon, Lebanon, they immigrated the United States in 1977 and he preceded her in death September 4, 1983. Surviving are: two children, Mourad Matta and wife, Sonia of Grand Blanc and Ziad Matta of Flint Twp.; five grandchildren, Dominick, Jack, Andrew, Alex, and Matthew Matta; brother, Kal Nemer; sisters, Georgette Yusuf and Jamal and husband George Skaff; many loving nieces and nephews.
